If only the Russians were as adept at doing good as they are at finding new barbarities such as the FPV drones.

But how are we any better, killing Venzeluans in boats without due process?

I don't know if Russian civilians know whether their soldiers are doing this evil thing. Maybe The Russian military can have news blackouts to hide this barbarism from the people. Killing Venezuelans in boats is quite similar. There is zero proof the killed Venezuelans are drug smugglers. It seems they are very unlucky fishermen. Yes, drug smuggling is a crime, and it is tragic how many fall victim to this crime. It is an exhibition of power to blow up random boats, just as targeting innocent Ukrainians as described here is a power play. Hunting down humans and killing them like this is just plain evil.

If everything you say is 100% accurate it in no way completes to the Russian actions involving the mass murdering invasion of a peaceful neighbor in something akin to the Soviet invasion of Poland in World War Ii, the kidnapping of tens of thousands of children, deliberate targeting of civilian infrastructure with no military assets or purpose, and mass torture. This kind of whataboutism is completely off base and when people in the US hear it is harming Ukraine’s cause. Just stop it.

The Ukrainians are not trying to smuggle deadly drugs into Russia. About 100,000 Americans die from drug overdoses caused by illegal dangerous drugs each year. Every frickin year. It’s not a remotely comparable situation, even if you believe Trump does not have the authority to do what he is doing and it’s bad policy. There is no moral equivalence. Stop it. Think more precisely.

🤔 Except the people who know about the drugs pathways say a) most of them are NOT coming in this way and b) so far there is no proof the people killed WERE carrying drugs on the boat - take your own advice and "think more precisely". There is absolutely a "moral equivalence" if the people targetted are innocents AND the authority targetting them is illegal eh⁉️

No. No. No. This is absurd whataboutism. There is not even a remote comparison to what Russia is doing in Ukraine to US actions against “drug boats”, even if it turns out to be entirely mistaken. You are damaging Ukraine’s cause with these statements. Stop it.

This is so utterly sick. There have been Hollywood movies about hunting other people, which I have never liked. I think Hollywood thinks they are playing with concepts that will never happen. Now it has happened. That someone very safely far away and anonymously just sends a drone into the world, and kills basically random people is taking the process of dehumanisation to a new level of hell.

Disturbing indeed. But they can’t hide the truth from everyone forever.

🤔 I'm guessing from the description of being "hunted" it would be a brave person to hold their nerve till the drone was close enough, and with no guarantee you would snag it❓ Also wondered about the fog cannons they use to stop shop burglaries in some places - would the drone be "blind" or again be close enough to still kill ❓ Mind you, I quite like the thought of the drone being caught in a net so perhaps the Ukrainians can re-purpose it if it's not badly damaged 💙💛

🥹 I remember seeing footage years ago (it might even have been Afghanistan ❓) of a tiny tiny drone the size of a large insect doing reconnaisance inside buildings, so frankly I could always see this coming when they were able to carrying munitions. Typical of humans to misuse things that can be beneficial (I've also seen them checking large areas for hot spots after fires, finding rare birds/animals, taking medical supplies behind the lines, etc etc) - unforgiveable but not surprising sadly that the Russians are pushing the boundaries here on the war crimes 🤬

I guess the answer to the question of why more nets haven't been put up might be that those doing the work would be sitting ducks while doing the work? It would require having other defences in place until they were deployed else... ⁉️ Didn't I also read that fishermen in another country have started sending nets to Ukraine for this purpose ❓💙💛💪

I really feel for those near the front lines who are easy targets because of proximity 🫂 - being forced out of your home for any reason is traumatic, and the description of being hunted by a drone operated by a cold-blooded killer from a remote location was chilling & visceral 😱
