Sound off!
A chance to tell us what you want The Counteroffensive to look like in 2025 and beyond.
I don’t know about you, but it feels like we are as far from a ceasefire today as we’ve ever been.
Putin doesn’t appear to be serious about peace, and has laid obstacle after obstacle in the process — even demanding regime change in Kyiv.
Meanwhile, many mainstream outlets have greatly diminished their reporting in Ukraine — and foreign reporting in general. The result is that the alienating effects of Trump’s foreign policy and tariff actions have been terribly under-covered.
This means our human-centered journalism is more important than ever.
We’ve always seen ourselves as a democratic community — and we want to hear your input on what we can do to improve the publication as we approach our second anniversary.

Open ended questions:
Let us know your responses in the comments? For this issue only, we’re opening the comments to all of our subscribers.
If you’re *not* a paid subscriber yet, why not? And will a 20% off offer help? This is our biggest discount we give. Pick it up while you can!
If you could take a behind-the-scenes look at anything we do, what would you want to see?
What could we do to add even more value to our Counteroffensive subscriptions? (We already offer paywalled articles, NEWSFLASH alerts, briefings/chats/livestreams, ability to comment, and recently we added behind-the-scenes looks at our editorial meetings!)
Survey questions:
We have always considered it a great honor that you’ve chosen to read The Counteroffensive.
Unlike so many other media outlets and Substacks, we don’t focus on just our opinion.
We do the hard work of reporting in the arena, risking our very lives for the reporting that we do.
Your support makes it so that we can buy the food we need on the road, the body armor we wear to protect ourselves, and the medical kits we hope we’ll never have to use.
Thank you so much for being a part of our community.
And stay safe out there.
Best,
Tim
My actual reason for upgrading to subscriber status is because I want to support the writers.
I would add that I also really appreciate you all being in the thick of it, on the ground, giving us news that I can trust. As I stand with Ukraine from afar, your human interest stories help me to get to know the people I am standing with and are a source of encouragement and hope in the midst of such darkness. Thank you for all you are doing. Take care and slava Ukraine 🇺🇦 ❤️
