Like with the stock markets, Ukrainian refugees have been living under massive uncertainty. A decision could come as soon as this month, with the threat of deportations this spring.
Everyday I feel a sense of dread and shame because my country elected a sociopathic narcissist as president. Worst of all is he was nothing but transparent, whether it is for his 1890 style economic policies, weakening NATO, mass deportation regardless of criminal history. 77 million people still thought he was the better choice. Keith Kellogg’s plan is bad, very bad. But the fact he is proposing British and French peacekeepers in Ukraine will be rejected by Putin. Witkoff is Trump and Putin’s guy, and he will probably tell Ukraine to surrender and pay Russia and US reparations and disarm permanently. I just had breakfast and feel like barfing. Fortunately, Ukrainians are tenacious, creative and patriotic, and Western Europeans and Scandinavians seem to finally wake up from their slumber. I am just sad that my country now sides with the bad guys instead of helping Ukraine fight.
I hate the fact that my government is on the side of Putin; I went to a support Ukraine rally and march in DC last month just to be a body and an ally, so I’ll continue to demonstrate and fuss at my representatives. I still have my monthly donation to United24. I wish I could do more.
I have never resented paying my taxes but I sure do now.
Oh man, me too. We owe this year (bigly) and I am stalling as long as possible to avoid giving this criminal and his team of lawless thugs any more of my money before absolutely necessary. Others have suggested just not filing this year, as the IRS staffing is being undercut, but I don't want to risk drawing unneeded attention.
Thank you Tim, the force deportations of migrants is the biggest crime of this administration among many many crimes. Thank for bringing attention to this issue. Notices "sent in error" is part of there performative cruelty and doubt it was a mistake.
Americans will not allow Ukrainians to be deported. There will definitely be blowback if trump tries it. U.S. veterans' organizations and members of Congress are influential and will speak out. I feel confident people will take action.
I warned of this last year and tried to rally support for Ukrainian refugees but there was so much denial, many never believed it would come to what we’re seeing. I understand that it’s human nature is to be overly optimistic and not prepare for the worst. Apparently it’s much harder for people to counter those among us with evil intent, more comfortable for them to deny the existence of the Trumps of the world. It requires recognition, acknowledgment and hyper vigilance to thwart their actions. I wonder if humans will ever realize that they don’t have to be pessimists to get there.
I am so disappointed in our Country. Trump and his minions have not been honest or compassionate to Ukraine and it’s brave people. Somehow we need to make minions realize how much Ukraine means to America.
If Trump wants out of NATO, why doesn’t he just move to Russia. He and Putin could be outed for their crimes against humanity. A word neither could intellectually define
Tim, you are remarkable, so glad you were on Bulwark last week👏☘️🙏
Thank you so much for this update, it's so painful to read. I have just finished watching the wonderful documentary 'Veselka' about a Ukrainian Cafe in NYC whose owner sponsored several refugees, mostly the parents of the workers at the cafe, through the Uniting for Ukraine program. It is inhumane and un-American to send them back. I'm curious if there is a specific bill I should cite if I reach out to my members of Congress to protest this potential reversal of status?
By the way, here is the link to the documentary if you are interested, it's the best documentary and film I have watched in years: https://veselka.com/pages/veselka-the-movie.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and for your support of Ukrainian refugees—it truly means a lot. The story of 'Veselka' is both heartwarming and a testament to the incredible resilience of our communities.
💙💛 As with all refugees in the USA who have fled war & violence, Ukrainians do not deserve the cruelty of threats & uncertainty, let alone being actually deported. Unfortunately it is a marker of the Trump administration that the cruelty seems to be more the point than actual rational policy 🤬
America has become the cruelest country in the World because just half of its voters installed the cruelest, most Evil criminal in the World to be in charge. Once a person is found criminally guilty, he cannot be changed as he recognizes his criminality and just continues his criminal ways

Am v worried about what happens next.
Glad hearing from you after you dropping off the live show with Alex Vindman.
Sorry for the abrupt departure!
All good - just showed how hard it is to report in a war zone. Alex can speak for another hour and I would continue to listen.
Revoking the status of refugees. Are we striving to become the most cruelest country in the free world ? Looks like we are going to win.
Yes
I hope Canada can accept these Ukrainian refugees.

Shared. I hope that the UK & EU can help out.

The video of the rally in support of Ukraine really hits it home. A video truly is worth a million words.

Pleading with Congress to stop him from cruelly.
