Me breaking the rules for your benefit during Kupala Night, June 23, 2024

A few years ago, I would have loved to weave a beautiful wreath, and place it on my head before throwing it into the river – all for a chance to find the love of my life.

I can't do that anymore - I'm married now. 

According to ancient beliefs, I am not allowed to weave a wreath or even wear one. 

But to immerse our dear readers in the atmosphere of the Kupala Night, I borrowed my friend’s wreath to try it on for you.

But we should start with a simple question: what exactly is Kupala Night?
