We were wondering if the topic might turn people off

It's another reality Ukraine is dealing with. We "frail" and spoiled Americans should not be averting our eyes.

Compot and I share the same opinion about Justin Bieber. (Thank you for that picture, Oleksandra, that made me LOL!)

I’ve been without power for six days twice, once after a hurricane and once after an ice storm. In both cases, municipal water and other utilities stayed up on backup power, so life was not too bad.

Two times I was without power for over one week, due to severe storms. Once was in the heat of summer, once was after a freak snowstorm in October that dropped about 5 feet of snow before halloween, here in Connecticut, USA. Both times were quite difficult and I cried like a baby when the power was finally restored. It was nothing compared to your ordeal!!

The cyclospora parasite has not reached my State, yet.

Excellent story about the intestinal illness problems from unsanitary conditions that we here in the US rarely encounter...at least until now. (It is why this Cyclospora outbreak is making such headline news here.)
