IMO it is time for President Zelenskyy, Ukraine, Europe, and Nato to do everything necessary and simultaneously blunt and block the russian asset in the WH and his so-called secretary hogsbreath! Pretend but do not believe anything coming out of the mouths of these people. One day they will all be judged traitors.
Trump has never put any pressure on Putin and has always been "turned" around every time Putin has spoken to him. He will not , and never seriously intended to, supply Tomahawks to Ukraine because Putin is against it and has fed him the lie about "escalation". In addition, Trump has disliked Zelenskyy ever since he refused to co-operate with him by providing compromising information about Hunter Biden. As for Putin, he will only respond to force and pressure. If Trump is not willing to exert it, the Europeans and other allies will have to. Btw, I believe it was the Biden administration that finally approved the supply of F16s. Too late for poor Andrii, but his spirit, and that of all fallen Ukrainians, lives on !
I regret to inform you that most of the West is not armed to the teeth. In a joint exercise with the Americans recently it was estimated that Britain would run out of ammunition within a week if a war started. We have 80 years of peace to blame for that. Eventually Europe will get their act together and start supplying modern arms, drones, missiles, etc to Ukraine. Until then, please accept our admiration are what your forces have achieved and know that we will continue to support you in your struggle for freedom.
Trump is in the pocket of the Heritage Foundation. Just Google it. Everything that has been going down from the Supreme Court appointments since Reagan to laws weakening regulations from the EPA to anti trust laws. The organization was founded in 1973 when Charles Koch and his brother David decided to rally a small group of the ultra wealthy, ultra conservative malcontents to form a plan of how to impose their list of how they thought the government should be run. This is the origin of Project 2025, and Trump is the current manifestation of what they hope to achieve. The people who belong to this "think tank" do not favor giving arms to Ukraine for whatever reason that may be "logical" or just bat-sh*t crazy. I think if you scroll down the Google entry it might help you understand what has been going on in Republican circles for the past 30 to 40 years and how it may continue to affect your country. Maybe a miracle will happen and they might realize how you are actually defending the entire European continent's democracy. But then, again, democracy may not be what they want. Good luck.
My guess is that Ukraine will, in the not-to-distant-future, innovate its own way to a locally built, long-range missile capability. As it has already done with its world-leading drone technology. So, maybe, the continued stonewalling in the White House might actually be ironically helpful in the long-term. I wish this, at least.
By the way, Ukraine has also waited, so far in vain, for German medium-range Taurus missiles. Given recent discussions in Germany, I hope they may be released soon.

You put it perfectly: "With the president’s negotiating position depending on who he spoke with last..." The man is no one's ally but his own.
Thank you for giving us more information about what really happens with the peace process.
