I hope the Ukrainians negotiating with the Trump administration are only doing it for appearance sake and not genuinely believing in getting the patriot production license. It is fool’s errand when the Republican Party is blatantly pro-Putin.
🥺 Sadly true, but Ukraine has been masterful in occupying the higher ground in diplomacy & negotiations - if/when the US once again renege on promises & agreements, they are the ones losing credibility, but on the other hand you have to believe that SOMETHING positive might come of it, even if not the ideal outcome ⁉️ Awareness in the US public is higher when there are reports of talks 🤷
I am of two minds. I lean towards what Philips O’Brien’s view that spending time with the Trump administration may take away valuable time to get Europeans onboard to stop wish casting the US will be a backstop if they don’t take care of their defense against Russia.
Great report and commentary on all points - thank you! I'm glad to hear that the door is not totally closed on granting Ukraine production licenses for the Patriot. And I think it will happen, in some form, once Trump believes he's struck a (lop-sided?) deal.
I don't believe Rubio's comment that "setting up sufficient domestic (Ukrainian) production of Patriot missiles will take years". As they've already well proven, when your survival is at stake, progress is dramatically accelerated. Who knows? Since US inventory is apparently far below needs, maybe Ukraine trades plans/techniques for accelerated production back to the US!!
💙💛 Excellent update - as always the best line is "Kyiv remains in Ukrainian hands" 💪 The leaked Russian assessment of how the "war" will go is interesting, but it is blatantly obvious that MOST in the Russian govt do not have accurate information from those on the ground trying to please instead of telling the truth, as you pointed out. I hope that will ultimately lead to their downfall by continuing to be caught by surprise in many & various ways 👍
🤔 Darn sure I wouldn't be flying into any Russian airport for the forseeable future, & telling that the US requested a lull in drones from Ukraine while their people had their "secret" trip to Moscow - how humiliating for Putin to have this made public that he can't protect the capital, on top of not being able to have large public military parades because of the same fear 🤭

Excellent, honest reporting, as always. Stay safe, pups and people.
Kudos to Norway!
Excellent update Counteroffensive. Much appreciated.
I look forward to hearing of the Beriev's going down like that helicopter reported by The Telegraph.
This was a very, very informative post. Thank you, Petro.
Thank you for reading!
