The Russian invasion has turned once-close family members against each other. We take an inside look into one family’s texts, as the war tore them apart.
A peace agreement would really only signal the end of physical hostilities. And even then may or may not last. But the invisible pain and suffering will still be there. And the feeling of hostility will likely last a long time. True peace and peacebuilding is such a long process that comes after the signing of an agreement. But we have to believe that one day positive relations will return. No matter how long it takes.
This war could have ended much sooner had Biden and team not acting so cautiously every step of the way. And now, we have Trump who has always had a fetish for Putin. If I hear one more pundit writing Trump is pivoting towards Ukraine without providing incremental military support, I will throw my phone against the wall.
This article was heartbreaking. I thank you for yet another deeply personal insight into this horrible war and what its consequences look like. How terrible for Artur’s Mother and Sister. How this unimaginable loss is multiplied through your Ukraine - and through Russia as well. How I could never forgive the Russians if my son, my wife, my brother were killed in this war of aggression. How so many Russians could never forgive Ukraine for their loss as well - no matter the, ‘who is wrong and who is right of the whole pile of, of garbage….It also left me wondering about Artur’s father. Does he know his son is dead? Does he know he may have commanded the troops that killed his own son? How horrible must that be. I am so sorry my country has failed the people of Ukraine.
So sad for the beautiful young man, Artur, and his family. For all the beautiful young men who are giving their lives to save their country. Thank you for telling his story, for reminding us, safe and warm in our homes, that this war is exacting a horrible price. Slava Ukraine.

Exactly the theme my article is trying to emphasize. Do you see a ceasefire as even a possibility now?

Me too!

Americans should know this from our own horrid history of the Civil War and families split on both sides. No one wins, no one isn't scarred.
That number keeps ringing in my head. More than 43 percent!
This is a very sad example of what can happen between families during a conflict. This is unbelievably sad.
