I am a genealogist, and have traced more than 23 thousand direct ancestors - among whom are St Yaroslav Vladimirovich "the Wise" & St Ingegerd Olofsdotter (my 28x great grandparents)! They, in turn, are the ancestors of six branches in my ancestral tree.
I'm old and, for a variety of reasons, have had to learn various foreign languages despite my age and innate lack of liguistic abilities. So -- way to go Tim!
One thing I'd love to have you explore is possible active CIA involvement in the Maidan Revolution. Some people like Oliver Stone and Jeffrey Sachs keep stating that it was due to CIA involvement, but I've not seen any reliable support for this.
Lisa's quote "it's very stressful work, but oh well" is what I will carry into my week if I start feeling stressed! Helpful to keep things in perspective.
